Thank you for wanting to share your talents with our children...we are truly blessed to have you as a part of our CYO program. To protect our children and to help support you in your efforts as a CYO Coach or Volunteer, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia requires the following of all Coaches and Volunteers for CYO programs:
Clearances for Volunteers/Coaches Living in PA Continuously for 10 years:
- Pennsylvania State Police Clearance: https://epatch.pa.gov/home

Clearances for Volunteers/Coaches Living in PA for Less Than 10 years:
- Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance

Attend Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Office of Child & Youth Protection Safe Environment Classes:

Attend Catholic Coaching Essentials
The Archdiocese requires all coaches to take the Catholic Coaching Essentials course within the first year of coaching. This course is an online course where you’ll learn a faith-based approach for coaching the skills and tactics of youth sports and providing the best possible experience for your athletes. There is a cost associated with this class and SSPJ CYO is happy to reimburse you, please email cyo@sspjparish.net. Please keep your certificate of completion with all of the other volunteer certificates.
Send in Your Documents
Please scan copies of all documents/certificates received upon completion of each requirement and email them to our Safe Environment Office Coordinator, Marie Romano at mromano@sspj.net. All information will be kept confidential. Be sure to keep a copy of all documents for your records.
