About SSPJ CYO
The SSPJ CYO sports program is a Parish program no matter where a child goes to school, that provides an opportunity for all young parishioners to play sports under the CYO philosophy. SSPJ CYO is primarily an athletic ministry that seeks to enrich the lives of our youth by providing athletic development and competition in a safe, sportsmanlike, and Christian setting. By ensuring a positive, instructional, and competitively appropriate environment, we give all eligible parish youth an opportunity to enjoy sports, increase their self-confidence and physical conditioning, and grow athletically, socially, and spiritually.
Our Mission
- To help our athletes maximize their potential and God-given talents so that they may compete at the highest level of which they are capable
- To teach our athletes, through sports, to practice Christian behavior, attitudes and sportsmanship
- To provide all of our athletes an opportunity to participate in a sport and/or be part of a team by offering as many sports options and levels as possible
- To provide our athletes the opportunity to give back to the community through service projects
- To provide an opportunity for our athletes to grow in their faith through prayer and participating in Mass as a team with our Parish community
